“Shake Shake!”

Zion races across the living room floor, sliding into the side of my leg as I start to blend my morning shake.  He has become pretty accustomed to Shaun and I making our protein shakes daily. But the amount of protein that is in our shakes is still too much for our little eager beaver, even if he wants strong muscles like his daddy.

But protein is obviously still quite important, and without dairy or meat in his diet, we have to be creative to find clean and healthy ways to get high quality protein into Zion.
I JUMPED at the idea of him wanting to make a shake like mama and dada and created Zion’s very own Peanut Butter and Jelly Shake

We use ARBONNE Vanilla protein powder, which is a high quality protein, derived from pea, cranberry and rice protein.  Surprisingly there is no granular taste, which you get a lot from Vegan protein powders and the flavour is DELICIOUSLY vanilla!!

Zion probably enjoys the shake making, because he is fully involved in the process.  I place the blender on the floor and pass him all the ingredients, which he puts in the blender one by one.  At the end I let him sit up on the counter and ‘hold’ the blender top on, so it doesn’t go any where 😉

Here are the ingredients for his very own peanut butter and jelly sandwich protein shake!

1/2 scoop ARBONNE Essentials protein powder, vanilla
3-4 frozen strawberries
1/2 cup all natural 100% Grape Juice (concord)
1/2 cup Oat Milk
1 tablespoon Natural Peanut Butter

Add all ingredients and put on a smoothie blend so that the frozen strawberries fully break apart and blend!

All I can say is YUM!!!
